smile.

I've had a pretty hard week.
For no particular reason,
it has just been hard.

But there are a few things
that have given me random smiles
here and there.

So thought I'd share in case
they give someone else a good smile!

My house, daily.

I literally laughed out loud at this one.

My precious pup using my kitty as a pillow :)

Hardy man sitting...like a man.

I am a little too obsessed with my animals,
but they make me laugh everyday!

Hope these pictures make you smile.

simple days

I have a confession,
sometimes I am really happy when it rains.
{Even though my pup, Hardy, is not}

When I say sometimes, I really mean sometimes.
Like a lot of people, I love the sun and warmth
and love spending my time outside.

However, every now and then, I LOVE
when it RAINS.

It gives me a chance to settle down.
Not run around.
And a great excuse to just stay inside and relax.

What do I do when it is a rainy day?
Completely unique things, of course, like reading and watching TV

On this rainy day, I want to talk about a couple books I have read lately and like:

Killing Floor (Jack Reacher, #1)
This is the first book in the series of Jack Reacher (ya know, that Tom Cruise movie that came out not too long ago). This book is not the same book as the movie is based on and I hear the movie wasn't very good, but I really enjoyed this book!
I had trouble with the beginning because of the style in which Lee Child writes, but it definitely turned into a gripping novel!
There were some awesome twists and turns
which I didn't see coming and
I always see them coming.
If you're looking for a light, easy to read and thrilling book then check this one out!

That Old Cape Magic: A Novel

This was another light, easy read. Perfect for by the pool or the beach!
The book had great characters and hilarious moments.

What do you do on rainy days?

Snail Mail

When I was a kid, I had a pen pal. I had met the girl while on vacation in the Virgin Islands and she lived in New Mexico which I thought was SO exotic.

Having a pen pal was awesome. I remember coming home from school to find a letter addressed to me and I was beyond excited.

I am now (very recently) 26 (eep) and I want another pen pal! I realize people don't really do this any more because there is e-mail and all other sorts of technologies so that I can instantly get a message from anyone, anywhere. But I want the excitement of letters. I want the excitement of one in the mailbox. And the excitement of writing on cute stationery.

I don't know about y'all but I am so sick of screens. Sick of computer screens. Sick of phone screens. Sick of TV screens.

Yes, I realize I sound like someone from a completely different generation. But they run our lives now. Literally.

Who else misses snail mail? Anyone else sick of screens?

Who would love to open their mailbox to something other than bills, junk and credit card offers?

Limbo

So I haven't blogged in a very, very long time. I just got really busy with the end of my degree, raising a puppy and just life in general. I don't know how people blog everyday, it seriously amazes me. Like how do they come up with enough topics?

Anywhos, to sum up the past few months:

1. Finished my law degree (YAY)

2. Went home to the US for a month

3. House trained a puppy (that's hard, y'all)

And that's about it :).

Right now I am back in Australia and waiting to complete another graduate diploma type thing called Practical Legal Training that's required to be admitted to the bar in Australia. The course hasn't started yet so I have just been hanging out with my dog basically. Most my friends have moved back to North America so there hasn't been much to do. This is when I realized that I am kind of just living in a limbo - just waiting for stuff to happen. Waiting to be admitted so I can work, waiting for April for when we move to a different (and more exciting) city. Waiting for the next chapter of my life basically!

Anyone else in a limbo? Been in a limbo before? Any tips on how make the limbo stages more exciting?
